URGE AID FOR GOLD MINING IN ALASKA DAWSON, Y. T April 17 Amendment Amend-ment of tho dominion placed mining laws for Yukon territory, to permit extensive prospecting of low grado placer creeks and valloys, for the purpose pur-pose of inducing dredging companies to oxtend their operations, will be asked of tho dominion government by tho Yukon development league, It was decided recently. Several large dredging companies havo worked out their original ground and may cease operations unless low grade plaacrs may be secured, It was said. Tho league, which Is composed of miners and business men, will also ask tho government to abolish tho , prosont royalty on gold.
