In the picture, Haymond is shown defeating Carl Johnson, famous Michigan athlete, in the-100-yard dash in the intercollegiate championships of America at Harvard stadium last spring. The time was 10 seconds flat. Alma Richards holds the world's record for the high jump at the Olympic games, the mark being 6 feet and 4 inches. Larson hold the unofficial world record in the high jump having a leap of 6 feet 7 and 7-8 inches to his credit. He was national champion in 1917. Martin is the western distance champion, who has yet to meet his first defeat in the west. The four men will be seen in action on May 8. |
