Show ADJUSTING THE CARBURETOR When it is necessary to adjust a carburetor a few general rules apply to almost, all of them. Begin with the air inlet and gasolino needle valve both closed. Open the air inlet about half of its capacity. Then open the gasoline needle valve one full turn of the top. It the engine can be started with this the more nearly accurate adjustments ad-justments can bo made by first changing chang-ing the needle valve very slightly in either direction, as may be indicated by results until maximum efficiency is obtained. If this does not give satis factory mixture, then begin with the air adjustment, and vary that as indicated in-dicated by the effects. Then go back to the air supply. When apparently good results have been attained with tho engine running idle, niark the adjustment ad-justment nuts with a file to. show a beginning and perfect the adjustment with the car running at an average speed on the road. nn |
