Miss Marlotte last played the Orpheum circuit as the star of "The Lollard," but site has more opportunity to show her versatility In the newest offering. She now hits a comedy characterization and an opportunity' oppor-tunity' to sing. She proved her bumy of humor in "The Lollard," but nothing more. That she can sing Is best proved by the fact that she was prima, donna at the Tlvoli opera house in San Francisco Fran-cisco at the time of the earthquake. Bessie McCoy is back again In vaudeville, vaude-ville, after a brief rest in Atlantic City. After her prolonged absence from the two-a-day, the "Yama-Yama Girl" found that giving fourteen performances a week was quite a strain, and, although she finished fin-ished her recent engagement at the Palace Pal-ace theater. New York, it was at the expense ex-pense of much physical pain. However, her rest has done her a world of good and she does not think she will experience experi-ence further trouble. Mclntyre and Heath put on a "new act" recently when they appeared on the stage minus cork for the first time in forty years. This was due to the fact that their baggage had failed to arrive In time for the opening show. That night, however, the baggage came and they did their usual blackface classic. ; ; f Vaudeville Gossip f Blanche Ring, the exuberant comedienne, comedi-enne, will shortly begin a tour of the Orpheum circuit for the remainder of the season. Miss Ring, whose popularity is as undiminished as the sea, will offer a repertoire of songs "some new, some old" which she knows so well how to sing. She Is scheduled to start her tour at St. Paul, and she will swing round the circuit to the coast, where she made such a pronounced hit last season in "What Next?" Now that the baseball season is on again In full swing, Eddie Leonard, well known to Orpheum patrons, has found himself another dead grandmother, and with that time-worn excuse to back him has given up his summer contracts so that he might occupy his usual seat behind be-hind first base. Leonard, who Is considered consid-ered the prize fan in fandoni, will be seen in the Orpheum theaters tn the fall. "The Honeymoon," a whimsical comedy com-edy by Aaron Hoffman, with Glenn Anders in the principal role, is about to begin a tour of the Orpheum circuit. Mr. Anders will be remembered as the. young man who supported Hermine Shone on her tour of the circuit in "Mary Ann." He also was the male juvenile lead in "The Last df the Quakers" and "The Little |
