Show 'BULL' SENTIMENT FEATURES MARKET Trading Is Heavy at Advanced Ad-vanced Prices; Feeling Is Optimistic. The nearest approach to a bull market In many moons was evident yesterday on the local exchange. Twenty-six stocks were active, and in the great majority of instances they were In demand at advanced ad-vanced prices. The tfeneral tone of the market was decidedly bullish and the. total transactions was the heaviest In many days, despite the tact that It wrs the short call of the week-end session. Although prac tically every broker operating oper-ating on the exchange has been predicting predict-ing an upward movement in mining stocks before the arrival of summer, the activity yesterday came as a surprise because it was believed that the third Liberty loan would take most of the surnlus money available lor Investment purposes for I probably another two weeks. Buying 1 power yesterday apueard to be unusually strong and althoiffh some further depressions de-pressions are anticipated in connection with war events and the usual profit-taking profit-taking movements, the belief remains strong among the leadlncr traders that the mining Issues are at rock bottom, and many far below their Intrinsic value, and that the general trend of the market will i be upward throughout the summer months. Columbus-Hexall was the star performer yesterday and advanced rapidly and steadily from 68 to 74 cents, and was In good demand all the way. Tintic Standard also was traded In heavily and at an advance of 2 cents. Among other stocks which recorded advances were Alta Consolidated. Con-solidated. Bullion, Howell, New Quincy.
