Show WORKERS OF OGDEN HEAVY SUBSCRIBERS Corporations Announce All Employees Own Third Loan Bonds. Special to The Tribune. OGDEN, May 4. "Ogden has gone 'over the top' with a whoop." This is the announcement the Liberty loan committee gave out late this afternoon. The exact figures for Ogden will not be obtainable until all the committeemen committee-men in the districts are heard from and the full reports are received from the six local banks. But the early leports indicate more than the alloted $1,370,-000 $1,370,-000 had been subscribed. The Southern Pacific company for the Salt Lake division announced today it had made its biggest record of the loans, with a total of $303,250. Of this $S1,250 was subscribed in Weber county. The Utah-Idaho Central railroad rail-road states emploj'ees had subscribed for bonds, taking a total of $20,(300. Similar reports were received-from the Ogden Railway & Depot company, the Union Pacific, Oregon Short Line and the Denver & Eio Grande roads in the city. Many of the large concerns of the city reported that all their employees had taken bonds. In the public schools where a great interest was roused in the loan a large amount has been subscribed. sub-scribed. It is stated the Madison school leads with $20,000 in bonds to its credit. The school also leads in war stamps, having purchased $3000 worth up to Friday night. |
