Show TO DRILL FOR OIL IN SNAKE VALLEY I 'Jans looking to the inauguration of drilling operations on its extensive holdings in the Snake valley, in western west-ern Utah, are being formulated by the Trout Creek Oil & Exploration com pany, according to an announeement made yesterday at the offices of the cor- , poration. The company controls aproxi mately 20,000 acres in the Snake valley country, it is reported. The belief that the structures in tin-district tin-district are favorable to oil is strengthened strength-ened by information received by the management of tho company that a good oil showing was encountered in the section several years ago in the course of drilling a water well. According to reports the oil was encountered at a depth of 280 feet and a crude test of the production indicated that the well would yield about, three fir four gallons a minute on the pump. Representatives of the company who have visited tho district are of the opinion opin-ion that the holdings embrace some exceptionally ex-ceptionally promising structures. While a good snowing of oil is reported to have been disclosed at less than 300 feet, the management of the Trout. Creek company is confident that the judications ju-dications are highly favorable to oh taining good production at a depth of from 1500 to 1800 feet. |
