Show CLOSE TESTIMONY IN THE M'GILLIS CASE Attorneys on both sides in the hearing hear-ing on charges of cruelty preferred by several newsboys against Charles Mc-Gillis Mc-Gillis have ten days in which to present pre-sent written statements, the hearing having been closed yesterday afternoon by the state industrial commission. "Several witnesses were examined yes-terdav, yes-terdav, principal among them being Chief" of Police J. Parley White, who denied that a certain newsboy had per-sonallv per-sonallv made complaint to him concerning concern-ing unfair treatment by Mr. McGillis. The boy himself also testified that he had been mistaken when he said it was the chief to whom he had complained it was another officer, he said, whom he took to be the chief. There were several cripples among the witnesses and all testified to having hav-ing been treated fairly and honestly in their dealings with ifcGillis. |
