Show LABOR BUREAUS ARE INSTALLED IN IDAHO Mighty Effort Is to Be Made in the Gem State to Solve Industrial Indus-trial Problem. Special to The Tribune. POCATELLO, Idaho, May 4. In a statement issued by M. J. Kerr, who has just been appointed federal labor commissioner for Idaho, with headquarters headquar-ters in Boise, it is set forth that plans for complete co-ordination in the work of supplying labor for the carrying on of industries contributing toward the winning of the war will at once be worked out. Branch labor bureaus are being installed in this city, Idaho Falls. Pocatello, Twin Palls, St. Anthony and Lewiston. All these federal offices will co-operate with the state council of defense, de-fense, county councils, county agents, the state farm market bureau, the director di-rector of the federal labor reserve and all labor agencies. .Constant efforts will be made to have each district in the state utilize its available labor to the fullest extent in furtherance of war work. Among other plans to be put in effect will be one to enlist the aid of business and professional men to give a part of their time to the handling of crops if needed. Commissioner Kerr was inducted into offico by Lawrence Wood, assistant superintendent su-perintendent of the northwestern division, divi-sion, composed of Idaho, Oregon and Washington, The local office will be in charge of P. E. Long, a well known young man, who has been engaged in newspaper work in this city. |
