The First and Second ward muluals and the mothers of Grantsville gave a profrramme and dance in the opera house Friday evening in honor of Miss Emma Sharp, who has been Identified with the different organizations for the past ten years, and who will leave at the close of the school year to accept a position as critic teacher at the branch Agricultural Agri-cultural college at Cedar City next year. Miss Sharp has been in charge of the beginner's work in the local school for a number of years, and in appreciation of her services she was presented with a beautiful gold wrist watch by the mutuals and the mothers. Miss Lillian Rowberry entertained the M M. and M club at her home on Main street Thursdav evening. Miss Emma Sharp, who will leave soon for her home at Vernon, was the guest of honor. ROOSEVELT I . ROOSEVELT, May -L Lieutenant Ray Ashton of Camp Dodgre, Des Moines. Iowa, was home for a short visit on a furlough last week. Mrs. Clare Ashton entertained in his honor at dinner Sunday. Sun-day. A purse of $24 was contributed. Miss Ida Peterson returned from Tooele Too-ele Sunday, where she spent the winter win-ter as teacher in the public schools. Mrs. Fred Schultz left Monday for Salt Lake City, where her husband is confined con-fined in a hospital. A pleasant dancing party was given at the Social hall Friday evening by Mae members of the Ladies' Mountain Echo band. Mrs. L. C. Hansen celebrated the seventy-fifth anniversary of her birth Friday afternoon.
