Pupils of the high school and Central school gave an entertainment Friday evening at the high school auditorium, the proceeds to be used to buy war savings stamps. Mrs. W. A. Varley entertained the members of the Eastern Star lodge Tuesday Tues-day after the regular business meeting was over and after the initiation of Fred S. Seeger. A birthday party was held, each guest giving as many pennies as they were years old, the proceeds to be used for the floral fund of the chapter. Mrs. Hans Hanson and Mts. F. J. Bennett Ben-nett left Tuesday evening for Hot Lakes, Ore. Mrs. Blanche Eldredge left today for Seattle, Wash., where she will represent the Bingham county Red Cross chapter at the convention to be held the coming week in Seattle for the northwestern division di-vision of the Red Cross society. Mrs. W. O. Smith was hostess on Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon to the members of the guild of the Episcopal church. After the business meeting refreshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Hemperly , of Salt Lake City spent the week in Blackfoot. Mrs. Nellie Castor and Miss Mattie Hunsinger spent the week-end in Rigby, Idaho. Chester Vincent and Harry Bnrke were hosts Tuesday evening to the members of the senior class of the high school at the home of Mrs. R. L. Archer. The evening was spent with games, after which refreshments were served. Mrs. Martin Jacobson entertained the Altar society of the Catholic church at her country home Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Edward Mannion and children left Thursday for an extended visit with relatives rela-tives in Missouri cities. Lieutenant G. J. Conlin arrived in Blackfoot Thursday for a short visit with his wife at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Early. Twenty guests were present. Dancing- was the diversion of the evening and the guests helped prepare pre-pare the refreshments. Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. M. M. Jones, her daughter, Eliza was married to Willard Parks of Michigan. Mrs. Parks is one of the popular young ladies of Malad. Mr. Parks is a missionary mis-sionary of the Reorganized L,. D. S church, and is stationed at Salt Lake City, where they will make their home. Miss Louise Merretl returned to her home in Salt Lake City, Sunday, Miss Hazel Wass entertained the U. J. lub Tuesday evening. Friday evening the junior class of the Malad high school entertained in honor of the faculty and the senior class. The assembly hall was decorated in school colors. A programme was given and games were played. Miss Mildred Jones has returned home from Fish Haven, Idaho, where she spent the winter. Tuesday evening Miss Ruth CasUeton was married to Leroy Davis at the home of the bride. Mrs. Davis is a talented young musician of Malad. Mr. Davis la home on furlough from the San Diego j naval training station. Following the I ceremony a banquet was served. Wednesday, Miss Cleopha Thomas and I Brig Williams of Tremonton and Mrs. I Willie H.
