Show ELKS FORM FUND FOR IlLlteSOLDIERS Project Will Be Launched With Dance at Bonneville Park May 17. Inaugurating one of the most timo-ly timo-ly and ambitious charitable enterprises in its history, which is marked by many large public services, the local lodge of Elks has established a fund for the purpose of giving financial assistance assis-tance to members of the lodge who may be disabled or invalided while in the service of tho government during the war. The project, which was launched during this 'week, is receiving the hearty hear-ty and unanimous support of the membership, mem-bership, and it is hoped that before there is a call for the use of any portion por-tion of the fund for the purposes to which it is dedicated, that it may be of such proportions that all its purposes pur-poses may be fulfilled. Immediately upon announcement that such a fund would be established, William Wil-liam J. O 'Connor, manager of Bonneville Bonne-ville park, a member of the lodge, offered of-fered to donate to the club the use of the dancing pavilion for one night, free of charge. The offer was accepted immediately with a vote of thanks and Exalted Ruler A. E. Osborne immediately imme-diately named a general committee to have charge of an entertainment and dance to be given at the pavilion. The committee took the first open date available, which is one week from Friday, May 17. .Steps are already under un-der way to make the event not only a profitable one for the fund, but a big success as an entertainment. The general gen-eral committee in charge comprises: E. E. Bennett, chairman; ,J Edward Swift, Leo M. Butler, William Luben-der, Luben-der, Gus Sanderson, Hugh Miller W J. O 'Connor. The general committee has made arrangements ar-rangements for the issuance of tickets tomorrow. The details of issuance are in the hands of Secretary ,r. Edward Swift and plans have been formulated by which a generous distribution of the pasteboards will be effected with no delay The committee on tickets and reception includes the following- O. B.
