Show DRILL TAPS POTASH IN DIXIE VALLEY Drilling operations for potash in the Dixie valley are progressing in a very encouraging way, according to the Fallon Fal-lon Eagle. The drill is now down sonn distance, and the formation encountered encoun-tered has been such as to highly enthuse en-thuse those in charge of the work. Thirty-two feet of rich black muck has been passed through b3" the drill, Snowing the presence of potasaium salts throughout the entire stratum. The brine which is being found in the muck also shows the presence of potash in fair quantities. Aji interesting feature of the late developments de-velopments is that the muck shows to great depth and carries 3 per cent potash, pot-ash, part of" which is soluble. Drilling is being continued to greater depths in the hope of striking a potash-i potash-i bearing brine beneath the rock salt which underlies the muck. |
