Show SHOW "AD" ORDERED FROM A BILLBOARD Postoffice Inspector at Pocatello Prevents Pre-vents Red Cross From Getting $50 From Circus. Special to The Tribune. POCATELLO, Idaho. May 4. The action ac-tion of a postoffice inspector todav in ordering the removal of a circus advertisement adver-tisement from a billboard located partly o'n the grounds of the government building, build-ing, caused considerable comment as to the sphere of the activities of federal agents. The billboard, which was erected and maintained at private expense, has heretofore here-tofore beeu devoted eutirely to patriotic patriot-ic advertising. When the circus management offered to donate $50 to the coining Red Cross campaign if permitted to make use of the board for the few days intervening between the close of the Liberty loau drive and the receipt of advertising for the Rd Cross, the offer was accepted. As soon as tho inspector found out what had been done, however, he promptly overruled the action of the committee, which believed its action fully justified by the circumstances. |
