Show jus is miooo WILL FIGHT II OUT Classy Feathers Feature in Monday Show; Fast Bouts in Prospect. Jimmy Johns, Ogden 's featherweight champion, will be backed by a strong contingent of Ogdenites Monday night when he tackles Harry Attwood, feather feath-er king of southern California. This will be the feature of the three six-round six-round headliners of the regular Monday night fistic shows in the Grand theater. Johns won a decision in Ogden over Young Azevcdo a few weeks ago. The decision was decidedly unpopular, but nevertheless, the Junction city exponent expo-nent of the manly art intends to get another crack at Azcvedo and that before be-fore a Salt Lake crowd. Hardy Downing Down-ing has agreed to frame a match between be-tween the winner in tomorrow's battle and the local champ. Attwood is a classy boxer and has given Azevedo his two toughest battles of the winter. The Ogden boy will have his hands full to get out of the fight with his eyes still open, let alone to win. Gub Williams, the fallen hero, will attempt to show that he has lost none of his ability when he tackles Kid Davis, Da-vis, former feather champ, in the othor six-rounder. Williams met his initial defeat a short while ago when he ran against Kid Einmett ot the west side. Lp until that time he had defeated all comers and was being touted as the coming sensation of local fightdom. Davis is one of the cleverest of the local mitt tossers and will be a good man for Williams to engage in his attempt to "come back. Jf G-ussie cau make a good showing against Davis and come out even with a draw he will have proved that he is still in the running for higher honors. Red Newey, the tough Ogden welterweight, welter-weight, will again appear before local fans. He will be m a six-round go against Eddie Head, a fast boy from the coast. This should be a fierce and thrilling bout, as both boys are slug- fers and love to bore in and try to win y knockouts. Newey has ;been in many rough and tumble battles before Manhattan clubbers club-bers and is always welcomed. Head comes here with a good reputation in the short round game in San Francisco, Seattle and Los Angeles and should make an excellent opponent for the Ogden Og-den boy. The two four-rounders will feature the fast featherweights of the Manhattan Manhat-tan club who arc "just springing into fame. Pat Murphy will tangle with Kid Blackie. Both these boys are ambitious scrappers who are eager to put up whirlwind bouts in order to get into the good graces of tho fans. Both have stiff wallops and aren't backward about unwinding them. Kid Brownie, a tough boy, will spot fists with Young Dows, a clever and hard-hitting youth who is coming to the front rapidly. |
