Show MORRIS PICKED FOR EREEIOOD'S SEAT Will Succeed to the Bench of Fifth Utah . District Dis-trict Court. Announcement was made from the governor's office yesterday that David H. Morris, veteran Democrat of Washington Wash-ington county, will be appointed to the bench of the Fifth district court of Utah, to succeed Judge Joshua Greenwood, Green-wood, who retires to become chairman of the public utilities commission. Judge Greenwood announced yesterday yester-day that he would resign from the bench probably about the end of this week, though he will remain to finish up some cases he has pending. He will hold court in the supreme court chambers in this city this week to wind up these matters. The .iudge "said that just as soon as he could dispose of the cases pending he would resign. It was announced at the governor's office that as 60on as the judge resigns Mr. Morris will be named to succeed him. Mr. Morris was a member of the legislature legis-lature for a number of terms, and for several sessions was the lone Democrat in the lower branch. He has been practicing prac-ticing in his home town of St. George for many years and is probably one of the best-"known attorneys of the southern south-ern section of the state. |
