However, the week's play was close and the teams in the second sec-ond division showed considerable improvement improve-ment and picked up some lost ground. With the close of the schedule several weeks distant, there is little expectation that the present leaders "will be forced out of their positions, but a lively scramble for the other places is expected. In the Boys' league the Badgers continue con-tinue to rule supreme. In the four contests con-tests during the week they broke even, taking two and losing two, but the Beavers, who are running second, failed to take advantage of this. The Beavers played in hard luck, annexing only one victory against a trio of losses. The Lions also won only one game and are still ten behind the Beavers. Heading the second division are the Wildcats, with a percentage of .354. The Coyotes follow, with 12 victories and 36 defeats, while the Bears bring up the rear with 10 and 3S. The Serpents gained three more contests con-tests in the Junior league. Nine games separate them from the Walruses, who are second, while the Seals and Sharks are far behind, with .333 and .292 their percentages. |
