Show SCHOOL BOARD IN BUSINESS SESSION Budget of Idaho Institute Considered at Meeting of Executive Com-mitte Com-mitte at Pocatello. Special to The Tribune. POCATELLO, Idaho. March 24. A meeting of the executive committee of the Idaho Technical institute was held in this city Friday afternoon. The committee consists of J. A. Keefer of Shoshone, recently named bv Governor Alexander as a member of the state board of education to succeed Judge R. M. Terrell of this city, Commissioner of Education E. O. Sisson and President Presi-dent Miles F. Reed of the Technical institute. in-stitute. The general affairs of the institution, institu-tion, including the budgets of the different dif-ferent departments, were passed - upon bv the board. Plans also were made for the construction of the new physical physi-cal education building for whiih $40,-000 $40,-000 was appropriated by the last session of the legislature and 'approved by the governor. Work on the new structure will probably start early in June and be completed before the commencement of the next school year. In addition to providing modern gymnasium gym-nasium facilities, the building will be arranged for use as a large auditorium for social functions and public meetings, tho present auditorium being entirely inadequate to the needs of the school. The rooms now used for gymnasium purposes will be utilized for classrooms and laboratories, which have been badly bad-ly needed for several years, and faculty and students alike are much pleased over the appropriation allowed. |
