Fraokliii Will Boild Car Every Fourteen Minutes New Additions to Present Plant Will Facilitate Assembly As-sembly of Machines. March will be the biggest month in the history of the Franklin Automobile company. com-pany. The use of five new additions to .the plant relieves congestion and makes possible the building of 1000 cars in the 23U working hours of the month. This means a car about every fourteen minutes, min-utes, and puts Lhe company on a 12,000-car 12,000-car per year basis. In June, 1915, the company was usin? about six and one -ha If acres of floor space for building cars, turning them out at the rate of 3500 per year. A comprehensive compre-hensive plan of expansion was adopted at that time and the building of a large addition was begun. In the period of a year ending with June, 1916. the company started the construction of four other additions, the floor area of which increased in-creased the tota.i to more than sixteen acres, an increase of about 150 per cent in one year. The latest structure to be started Is now in use. Car production has gone ahead faster than floor area, increasing 200 per cent since last September. Despite this big gain, the orders on the company's books show that the demand Is still ahead of the supply.
