Show Paige Model Was Driven Overland for Big Exhibit Arrives" in Pittsburg After Bucking Snow and Mud for Miles. THE delivery of cars by driving them overland in ihese days ot freight car shortages, railroad tleups and other setbacks is getting to be rather a common thing- in the motor mo-tor world. However, it remained for the Paige "Brooklands" model to establish estab-lish the record of being driven from Detroit De-troit to Pittsburg recently for the big Pittsburg show, which gives the "most beautiful car in America" the distinction of having bucked miles of snowdrifts and muddy roads for "show purposes." The information regarding the trip to PUtsburg, where it proved the sensation of the exhibit, as was the case throughout through-out the country, was received here yes- i-t. uo-j Kiy J. iVl. ouaw , lUUdl JTiilge CJ!5- tributor, from W. B. Straight, president of the Paige Motor Sales company here, who is now in the east. The factory, realizing the importance of having the model on exhibition, and unable to arrange for transportation on the railroads, finally decided to drive the car to the display. The showgoera were surprised, when gazing at the shining model, to be told that only a few days before the car had plowed through miles of mud and snow. Mr. Shaw reported yesterday that the sales of the Paige car were brisk here and that the pleasant weather had brought hundreds of persons to the display dis-play rooms to inspect the "Brooklands" model. |
