Eleven contests with the best teams in this locality were played and the Stickers came out on the long end of all but two. The Stickers claim the independent championship of the state. Teams that fell before their attack were the Murray, Granite, American Fork and Bingham high schools, the Granite faculty and the University of Ftah. The two defeats which they suffered suf-fered were at tho hands of the University Univer-sity of Utah and Lehi high school quints. Both of these games took place at the latter part of tho season and the Stickers were not .able to have their strongest lineup on the floor. On the roster of the Stickers' squad are a number of former high school stars as well as several of the best men on some of the local teams at present. -Bryan West, Walt Emery, Jack Peterson Peter-son and George Hamilton are the forwards for-wards who have performed throughout the soason. West was picked for all-state all-state forward in 1916 while playing with the Pleasant Grove quint and always showed up well in the games. Emery and Hamilton gained their experience at Granite under Wid Ashton and figured to a large extent in the scoring. Dennis Ausherman, who is captain, usually played the center position. Although Al-though not very tall, he always gave his opponent a hard battle. He is another man wdio was coached under Granite colors, where he was one of the stars several years ago. Kink and Ren Clawson and Elmer Dean composed the defensive portion of the five. Ren Claw-son and Dean were members of the L. D. S. university five also this year. Dean was picked for an all-state position. Kink Clawson played several years with the West high Panthers and also with the L. D. S. university and is a finished player in all departments of the game. Homer Hoisington acted as manager. He is well qualified for the position, as he is acquainted with most . of the coaches in the state and had no trouble in arranging for contests for his team.
