GRANITE SCHOOL TO TRY MERIT SYSTEM One of the results of the reorganization reorganiza-tion of high school methods by the faculty fac-ulty and principal of the Granite high sch'ool is the adoption of the school merit system by "which responsibility of school conduct will be placed upon the shoulders of the students. The system is' experimental at present, pres-ent, hut if it proves successful it will be "adopted permanently. For the remainder re-mainder of the year students who receive! re-ceive! fiften demerits will be automatically auto-matically dropped from school and will not be allowed to re-enter unless special permission is granted. The student stu-dent who receives ten demerits will not be allowed to participate in student activities. Teachers will Bend a record of the demerits received by students to the clerk of the school, who will keep them on file. Pupils having demerits will not be allowed to have their names tabulated upon the honor roll. This system was started last Monday for the first time and so far has proven a success.
