Twen-ty-ono men will leave Porterville Monday Mon-day evening for Salt Lake City, prepared pre-pared to meet the Portland club in the opening game of the league season. In addition to Lydiatt, who was dismissed Friday, Bornhard plana to send home Eddie Anfinson and perhaps Bob Cress of tho catching staff, Wild of the heaving heav-ing division, and Barney Kearns is to he placed with some team Bubject to dralt later in the season if needed. With these passports handed out, the squad leaves intact for Los Angeles and thence for Las Vegas, where an exhibition ex-hibition game is to be played Wednesday Wednes-day with another game slated for Mil-ford Mil-ford the following day. No decisions has been reached as to the lineup for the opening contest April 3. The tentative batting order has ben given out as follows: Tobin, centers old. Kath, third base. Gislason or Crandall, second base. Itynn or Shinn, left field. Qninlan, right field. Carpenter or Orr, shortstop. Brief, first base. Hannah, catch. The outfield positions are only ten tatively arranged. Kirmayer, Dubuc and Hughes will be used in the game at Las Vegas, and Levercnz, Evans and Hoff will work in the Milford exhibition game on Thursday. Thurs-day. In the practice game this afternoon the ' regulars beat the yannigans by a score of 17 to 7. The regulars had a total of seventeen hits, three-baggers being contributed by Evans, Tobin and Hughes. Gislaeou led in the hitting, getting four out of six times up. Two exhibition games are slated for tomorrow, one with the Porterville nine and the other with the Tulare Merchants. |
