Show PIONEERS HONORED AT MULEffll Eighth Annual Celebration Observed With Pleasing Public Services. MT. PLEASANT, Man.h 24. The eighth annual celebration of the Mt. Pleasant Pioneer Historical association, honoring the pioneers who crossed the plains and settled in Mt. Pleasant in was one of unusual success. A public pub-lic meeting attended by several hundred hun-dred people was held in the North ward chapel and au appropriate programme of sons. music and speeches rendered. The pioneers and older residents wore conveyed con-veyed to the chapel in automobiles and everv attention was showered upon them. The pioneers were seated upon the rostrum and their appearance and 1 ho expressions upon their a god faces in silence related many an interesting story of thp hardships f her had en dured, recalled as the various speakers touched upon incidents of pioneer life, .lames Larsen, president of the association, asso-ciation, presided at the meeting, and Newell K. Young delivered the principal princi-pal address, eulogizing the pioneers, praising their work and loyalty and asking for the kindness and attention due them from the younger generations. The officers elected were dames Larsen, president ; ( '. Y. Anderson, vice president; presi-dent; Miss Hilda M. ad sen, secretary, and James Monson. treasurer. These, together with Ferdinand Krickson, E. C. Johnson. James Borg. Joseph Monson, Joseph Peely, Mrs. Henry Erieksen, Mrs. John II. Seely, Mrs. A. G. Oman. Mrs. Thomas West. Mrs. "R. N. Bennett, Ole Hansen, C. T. Madsen and Mrs. William Wil-liam Olson, form the directors. In the evening a dance was given in the opera house, which had been beautifully beau-tifully decorated for the occasion with American flags, pine and cedar boughs and wild flowers.
