Show AMERICAN AVIATOR KILLED IN ACTION PA-S, March 24. Further news from the front leaves no douht that Sergeant Ser-geant J. R. McConnell, the American aviator who now has been missing; five days, after having been engaged in a combat with two machines over the German lines, was killed in action. Ob-servers Ob-servers at a distanco saw his machine fail in flames and his two German assailants as-sailants returning toward their own lines, it is now learned. Edinond C. Genet, another American aviator who was wounded in the first contact with the Germans as he was accompanying McConnell, is a great grandson of Citizen Genet, who was French minister to the United States during the Washington administration, and subsequently settled in America. |
