Show BOONE'S DESCENDANT JOINS REGULAR ARMY Salt Lake District Postmasters Winners of February Honors for Recruiting Activities. The honor of twenty-fifth position in the matter of securing recruits for the United States army has been awarded to the postmasters of the Salt Lake district tor the month of February. In general recruiting, including both "postmasters "post-masters and the regular enlisting force, the Salt Lake office stands eighteenth for efficiency in the whole "United j States. During February the Salt Lake district enlisted 160 per cent of the men which it -was supposed to recruit. A great grandson of the noted scout and Indian trapper of Kentucky, Daniel Dan-iel Boone, bearing the same name as his illustrious ancestor, enlisted yesterday yester-day in the medical department of the United States army. Another successful success-ful applicant was Edward A. Nicholson, accepted for the signal corps. Among other applicants yesterday were Clarence Clar-ence Huntsman, Caliente, Nev. ; Edward Ed-ward F. Eieger, Montana; infantry; George A. McGregor, Detroit, Mich., infantry. |
