Show WORK OF RELIEF TO BE CONTINUED FROM OUTSIDE NEW YORK. March 24. The commission commis-sion for relief in Belgium, in announcing the long-expected withdrawal of American Ameri-can relief workers in Belgium and northern north-ern France, stated today that all plans had been made for the continuation of the work through the present general external ex-ternal administration outside of Belgium and the replacing of the Americans In Belgium and northern France by competent compe-tent Dutch commissioners. The state ment aaas: "The Belgians and the population of the occupied portion of northern France must be fed. Belgium alone had 7.5OU.000 depending for their very lives upon food imported for them by the American commission. com-mission. There can be no cessation of efforts. We have twenty-two ships on the ocean, all fully insured. Two have just arrived safely at RotLerdam." |
