INTEREST IS GREAT IN JEROME DISTRICT The United Verde Extension management manage-ment states that the mine has 1,000,000 tons of 16 per cent ore in sight. Last year the company produced 36,400,000 pounds of copper from but 80,109 tons of ore, which means that the production averaged av-eraged 22.7 per cent copper, in addition to 1.62 ounces of silver, to the ton. Net profits for the year were $6,93S,-DiiO, $6,93S,-DiiO, In spite of a transportation charge of $1,200,000 and heavy custom smelting charges, made necessary owing to lack of smelting facilities at Jerome. It is. however, not to be Inferred that the embryonic mines of the Jerome locality arc all United Verde Extensions in the making, for the United Verde Extension Ex-tension Is declared to be a marvel among copper mines.
