Show JAMES CONFIDENT OF .RETURNING TO FORM BOSTON, Feb. 17. Bill James, the star twirler of the Boston Braves through the 191-4 season, and whose brilliant bril-liant work that year did much to beat the Athletics in the world's series, has recently announced his belief that this year is going to be one of his best seasons. If it is true, the Braves may be pleased and cheered with the news. Pitching that James has done through the fall has persuaded him that his arm is now as strong as it ever was, and he has been so pleased with the idea as to write to George Stallings telling him the good news and promising promis-ing him a surprise when the spring training season begins. Stallings will be as happy over it as anyone, because with James going right all season the Braves will be in a position again to make a hot bid for the National league rag. |
