Show It GARFIELD M f GARFIELD, Feb. 17. Miss Lillie Kauf- 1 man of Salt Lake was the guest of Miss Theo Furron the past week. The J. A- A. of All Souls' mission Sunday Sun-day school was entertained last Thursday Thurs-day evening by Edward Sonne at a pretty valentine part. Those present were Harry Butcher, Clellah Haley, Herman Ludwig-, Theodore Johnson, Louise Lud-1 wig-, Walter Elder, Katherine Connell, Edward Sonne, Lyle Garland, Wade Hardle, Bonnie Avis, Vernon Avis, Althea Evers, Howard Bird, Leah Ashby, Ronoig Wyotte and Myra Oherrington. Guests of the club were Rose Karans, Say Hardy, Clara Hales, Kenneth Hardy, May Sonne, James Hardy, Hulda Elder, Harold Sonne and Vera Hardy. The evening was pleasantly spent in playing games, after which refreshments were served. The Baker's Dozen Bridge club will be entertained by Mrs. Fred Hanson this afternoon. The G. B. G.' club meeting sheduled for ThurPday evening was postponed until next Thursday. The Q. S. club met with Miss Addie Bonsman and Miss Helen Bonsman. last 1 evening. The G. G. Bridge club was delightfully entertained Wednesday afternoon at a 2 o'clock luncheon. The decorations were of St. Valentine design, in red and gold hearts, and the flowers used were purple, with a touch of gold intermingled. The prize for high score was won by Mrs. R. T. Murphy, the special prize by Mrs. L Borgstede and the consolation prize by Mrs. Carl Madsen. St. Reta's guild was entertained Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon by Mrs. Louis Taylor, i There was a good attendance and ar- j rangements were completed for the supper sup-per and entertainment to be given by the guild at the Garfield club next Tuesday Tues-day evening. The event is under direct supervision of the officers of the guild, namely, Mrs. Fred Fellmeth, president; Mrs. B. E. Norman, vice president, and Mrs. Richard Bodkin, secretary and treasurer, and will undoubtedly be one of the greatest social and financial successes suc-cesses ever undertaken here. Dancing will follow the entertainment and supper sup-per and will conclude the evening's programme. pro-gramme. The public card party given by the Women's club Thursday afternoon for the benefit of the children's playgrounds fund was very well attended. Prizes were won bv Mrs. W. D. Leonard, Mrs. C. F. Mad-sen Mad-sen and Mrs. T. R. Murphy. Mrs. Thomas Thom-as Malier entertained four tables of guests. Mrs. Leonard and Mrs. A. Mc-Arthur Mc-Arthur also entertained several tables of extra guests. The membership contest which has been in progress in the Women's club for the past several months has drawn to a clo.se and the losing side will entertain the winning side at a function at 1:30 o'clock next Saturday afternoon, which will be an elaborate affair and largely attended. |
