Show TERBER COPPER'S outlook mm Arthur Thomas, Mining Man, Back From District With Good Impressions. That the Ferber mining district of the Deep creek country is due to be one of the most active and prosperous of the west is the impression of Arthur Thomas, of the firm of Dern & Thonras, mining men and brokers. Mr. Thomas has ust returned from an inspection of various properties in the camp, which, he says, despite bad weather, is now the scene of much activity. Mr. Thomas said yesterday that the greatest amount of "development work was being done by the Ferber Copper company, controlled by J. C Dick of j Salt Lake and his associates. The company com-pany has opened up shipping ore in six places, has one shaft down sixty feet, another forty feet, and has ope'n cuts of from ten "to twenty-five feet on the rein, which has been proved for more than 10UO feet in length, and no development devel-opment so far accomplished has determined deter-mined tho real extent of the' ore bodies. The ore, said Mr. Thomas, runs from 5 to 7 per cent copper and after deducting de-ducting all mining and operating expenses ex-penses nets the company aoout $o00 a car. The shipments at present are only one or t'.vo cars per week, but within two weeks it is expected that the shipments ship-ments will average a car each day. There is much interest in the Ferber townsite, which is owned by the Ferber Fer-ber Copper company, and about one-half one-half of the 200 lots "placed on the market mar-ket are stated to have already been sold. |
