Show KISSEL CiiEO 1 NATIDN'SMOTOH WAY The two great problems of the retail automobile business five years ago were how to make money d uring the winter months and how to profitably dispose of used cars. The first of these seems to have been satisfactorily solved by the convertible car idea which, as Kissel the originator says, "changed the motoring habits of the nation." The all-year car is the most important development in the history of the industry. It has multiplied cold weather driving and created a continuous demand for cars. It has kept the factories fac-tories running constantly, eliminated "off months" from the retailers" calendar. calen-dar. The used car problem Is still awaiting a Kissel to solve it, although the abnormal ab-normal call for cars and Improved methods of disposal have considerably lessened its seriousness. Dealers in several sev-eral cities have combined this year and held a ued car show. Soma of these ex- hlbitions have proved very successful. Others have found auction sales profitable and still others rebuild their second-hand cars into light trucks. 1 A. F. SAVAGE t ' " : I .... .
