Show mm school TO OPBHOlilW Park City Teachers Under- take to Prepare Aliens for Citizenship. Special to The Tribune. PARK CITY, Feb. 17. A meeting presided over by the committee that was appointed at the citizens' meeting on February tl was held last evening at the Washington school between the teachers and all foreigners who are willing will-ing to attend a night school. V. T. Quiun, S. L. Kaddon and J. L. Kearns of the committee explained the system as worked out by the committee. They would start the school with two classes. One class would be for those who could not speak English and the other for those who could speak and write the English language. The teachers teach-ers who would have charge of the class that could not speak English would be assisted by interpreters from the different dif-ferent nationalities. If there was enough interest shown in the night school the committee would also make arrangements for classes jn the daytime for those working on the night shifts. The tuition fee would be $1 per month and the textbooks would be 2.j cents each. The school board would give them the use of tho school rooms and furnish the light and heat free. The principals of the schools also spoke. They are all willing to co-operate with the committee to make the night school a success. It was decided to start the school next Monday at 7:30 p. m. The. teachers teach-ers will be Miss Helen Deason and Miss Kuth Hilstrom for the primary class, R. I. McDonough and Robert Dunbar for the advanced class. There were forty for-ty signed up after the meeting. They a'll promised to be on hand Monday evening. |
