Heart-shaped invitations invi-tations heralded two prettily appointed valenttne parties given Monday and Wednesday evenings by Mr. and Mrs. William Oakden at their home. I The home was decorated throughout with an abundance of hearts and valentines, rod and white being the color scheme. The most elaborate affair of the week was the old folks' party given Wednesday afternoon after-noon in honor of the old folks of Farm-lnston. Farm-lnston. The hall was decorated in valentines valen-tines and potted ferns, and large bunches of carnations formed the centerpieces for the numerous tables. Mrs. Robert Miller, Bishop and Mrs. A. L. Clark. C. .lenson, Josiah Bean and Mrs. Margetts and daughter of Salt Lake. Mrs. Pinions of North Farmlngton and Mr. Jude received re-ceived prizes for being the oldest persons present. An elaborate card party, celebrating St. -Valentine's day, was given by Mrs. Harry Thomas. Red hearts and cupids were in evidence in the decorations, hanging from the archway separating the dining room from the living, room and extending from the chandeliers to the card tables. " Large cut-glass vases of red carnations made the card room a bower of beauty. The favors were little red baskets with heart-shaped heart-shaped candy. The ices and cakes were heart-shaped and carried out the " color scheme in the luncheon, which was served by Mrs. Frank Pedrick, Mrs. B. II. Grant. Mrs. J. H. Wheeler and Mrs. Stella Reuphaldt. The first prize was awarded to Miss Harriet Figg, the second going to Mrs. Patrick Savage. Mrs. Wesley Jones entertained for Mrs. Charles Bussey and Mrs. Harvard Wheeler on Wednesday evening.
