Peterson, Burton Jensen and Hugh Acord were committed to the earth here lata today, the final chapter of the Corner ranch raid was ended, and three more names added to the list of Americans Amer-icans killed by bandit3 in Mexico. While the Mormon church choir chanted chant-ed "Oh, My Father," as the caskets were lowered into the graves, mounted Mormon scouts patrolled the Mexican border line to prevent a surprise attack by bandits, while cowboys and homesteaders home-steaders stood about the graves with their wide-brimmed hats in one hand and their rifte-S in the other. Tho closing scene of the triple tragedy trag-edy was staged within sight of the Corner Cor-ner ranch, where the three Mormon cowboys cow-boys were captured late Monday by Mexican raiders, dragged across the border bor-der and killed, after which their bodies were mutilated. Off across the llanos of Mexico could be seen the Saddleback mountain at Ojitos ranch, where Sala-zar's Sala-zar's 500 troops were encamped, while the patrols of the Twelfth United States cavalry were silhouetted against the southern skyline of the border. A short service w-as held at the Campbell Camp-bell ranch house, in charge of Bishop Philip Hurst of the Church of the Latter-day Saints, himself an exile from the Mormon colonies of Mexico. After the brief service, the caskets were taken to the newly-made graves which had been dug during the morning by Lem Spillsbuvv, the Mormon scout, and his posse, which found the bodies across the border from monument No. 54. The widows of Peterson and Jensen followed the army ambulance carrying the bodies, having come to the ranch today against the advice of their attending physicians. Both Mrs. Peterson and Mrs. Jensen swooned when the caskets were opened at the ranch house, but later revived and insisted upon attending the burial service serv-ice at the graves, which were dug on a knoll overlooking tho boundary line.
