Show HUNTER TAKES OVER THE WHITE AGENCY Announcement has been made of the taking1 over of the White agency by O. C. Hunter of the White Motors company, which will be located at 36-38 South West Temple street, aa soon as the building is ready. The company will represent the White company of Cleveland, Ohio, and will handle both White trucks ajid pleasure pleas-ure cars. The White Motors company, a local organization, or-ganization, is a permanent institution and when located in its new building, with spacious display rooms and up-to-date shop facilities, will present one of the most attractive motor agencies in the city. A White car which has been made into a traveling office for army commanders attracted much attention with the New York national guard along the Mexican border and caused much talk in military mili-tary circles all over the country- Speaking Speak-ing of the machine, which will prove so valuable in war times, Mr. Hunter said yesterday: A portable office that can be swiftly swift-ly moved from one location to another, an-other, furnished with all the equipment equip-ment and conveniences necessary for carrying on the business of a commanding com-manding army officer, has been designed de-signed for the New York state national na-tional guard for service along the Mexican border. The office fs mounted mount-ed in a White 14-2-ton chassis. The table in the center of the body Is used for examining drawings, maps and other important papers. When not needed It may be quickly removed. re-moved. The seats on the sides will accommodate six persons. If necessary, neces-sary, th.e officer and his staff can transact business while the truck is in motion. The front of the body contains a roll-top desk, seats for clerks and compartments for three typewriters, which can be drawn out on slides and operated from the front of the desk. I When the typewriters are not in use the writing shelf of the desk may be dropped down. The drawers ajid filing fil-ing spaces are for documents, correspondence corre-spondence and record cards, while the long compartments are for filing drawings and other bulky papers. A telephone enables the officer to quickly transmit messages to different differ-ent parts of the camp. A swinging bulletin board attached to the left stanchion of the body is another interesting in-teresting feature. A shelf, which may be dropped down on the outside of the truck, serves as a desk for officers to make out reports. Four wire racks, attached to the Inside of the large . door, are used for holding papers of the different regiments. |
