Show SECURING CARS IS DEALERS' PROBLEM "How to dispose of our cars 1s the least of our worries." said Sam Sha-rman. manager man-ager of the Sharrnan Auto company, local Oakland distributers, yesterday. "Our problem," Mr. Sharman said, "Is one of securing the cars already sold. We can't take care of half the business offered, and this condition is caused by the fact that the factory cannot build them fast enough nor can the railroads handle them as fast as they are built. For instance, at the opening of the 1916-1917 1916-1917 season, the Oakland factory planned an output of 35,000 cars 10.000 more than were built during the previous twelve months. Now the Oakland manufacturers are figuring on the production of 60,000 ijobs a year and even when they reach that high pitch it is a certainty that the supply will fall short of the demand." |
