Show usi to cnmi moras of cm The first official dodarntion of the policy for t ho tiisui ntr year by the president of the, N:ish Motors company, ni aiiufac tuners of the Jei'i'ery auto mobiles mo-biles and motor trucks, has boon received re-ceived in Salt Lake, bv President Traey of the Tracy Motor Car company, distributors dis-tributors in this section for Jeffery pleasure cars and trucks. The official statement made by President Pres-ident 0, W. Nash announces that a large production order has just been issued on the Jeffery "six" and that this car. , incorporating certain changes and re-. re-. quircinents. will be cont inued throughout through-out the season as a product of the Nash Motors company. So much con jecture has be'en current as to the probable niniiii facturing policy pol-icy which Mr. Nash would pursue that this announcement has aroused much interest, both among the trade and the general public Mr. Nash in outlining his reasons for this decision states that since his purchase pur-chase of the Jeffery plant ho has examined ex-amined the construction of the Jeffery "eix'' in every detail and put it to every test of machine shop and road. The tests, he snvs, convinced him that jr Jeffery "six" was one of the best inotor cars in this country. Some alight changes have been made, which, Mr. Nash says, have still further improved this car. President Tracy of the Tracy Motor Car company of Salt Lake, in discussing discuss-ing the announcement by Mr. Nash, said yesterday: What Mr. Nash has learned of the Jeffery car is only a reflection reflec-tion of what we, who have studied it for many months, have known right along, i'or instance, the Jeffery Jef-fery has more alloy steel than most American cars. Alloy steel is the superior material, because of its great strength and resistance to wear. But because of its groat toughness it is difficult to machine. Another unusual feature about Jeffery "six" construction is the fact that nothing but the best grade white ash is used in the body. Its 53-horsepower motor permits per-mits a range of speed on "high" from two to sixty miles an hour. President Tracy declares that, despite de-spite the inclcynent weather, his company com-pany is handling many inquiries and orders on Jeffery pleasure cars, and particularly on Jeffery trucks. These famous Jeffery quads are being shipped by express and driven overland for hundreds of miles by Nash dealers in the east, who are determined to fill as promptly as possible all orders placed for these cars. This is the word that comes from K. C. Hart, truck sales manager of the Nash Motors company. Mr. Hart has wired President Tracy that the demand for Jeffery quad trucks has been unusually un-usually strong throughout the winter, and in order to meet deliveries, and in the face of present-day freight difficulties dif-ficulties east of Chicago, the Nash dealers in Jeffery quads have resorted to the extreme measures of express shipments and long overland drives in order to put their trucks into customers' custom-ers' hands. |
