Show I IDAHO FALLS, IDA. 4 f IDAHO FADES. Idaho, March 17. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Brandl returned Thursday Thurs-day from a three weeks' stay In California. Cali-fornia. Sunday the members of the Union Sunday Sun-day school of New Sweden took their dinners and at the close of the school gave a surprise to Mr. and Mrs. Kinss- bury, who are leaving there. After pre- j senting Mrs. Kingsbury, who has been a faithful teacher in the school, .with a beautiful serving tray, the dinner was spread. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. George Jeft'ery and family, Mr. and Mrs. O. Eundstrom and family, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Peterson and family. Mrs. Sharp and children, Mrs. Bellum and children, Mr. and Mrs. Carl W. Peterson and children, Edna, Freda and Willie Shannon. Mr. and Mrs. A. Burknmn and family, Harry Pat-ton. Pat-ton. Miss Beula, Mr. and Mrs. Robert King and familv. Fred Scheidegger, Mr. Allen. Mr. Roland and family, Ruth and 1 Ivo Jeffery. Misses Bessie, Marjorie. Dorothy Doro-thy Nye and Johnnie Nye, Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Kingsbury and John Kingsbury. Mrs. TP. H. Churchill and daughter, Amy, have returned from a month's visit in California. Mrs. John I. Hubbell entertained the Merry-Go-Round Kensington at her home Friday afternoon. Covers were laid for fourteen. About thirty of the friends of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jensen gave them a surprise sur-prise Thursday evening. Games, music and other amusements occupied the evening even-ing until the baskets werb opened and a fine lunch enjoyed. Mrs. I-arson got first prize in the games and Mrs. E. J. Hall the second prize. Mrs. I. E. Clayton gave a dinner party Fridav evening in honor of Mrs. James Chrlsiensen of Caldwell, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Greenwell, who have spent the past three months in California, Cali-fornia, returned home Friday morning. Mrs. A. J. Norrup and Mrs. Charles Wilson Wil-son entertained the members of the Royal club at the home of Mrs. Norrup Friday afternoon. Luncheon was served. Miss Elizabeth Holden gave a dancing party at the home of her parents Friday evening. The decorations were of the St. Patrick idea. Those present were Misses Louise and Margaret Yeaman, Mary Kelly, Margaret Earl, Susie Empey, Emily Wade, Gladys Simmons and Masters Marvin Mar-vin Navlor, Meryll Cain, Jack Sheppard, Jack Lowder, Charles Kelly, Eltlng Has-brouck. Has-brouck. Clinton Dinwoodey. -Von Stratford Strat-ford and Edwin Holden. Mrs. Margaret Swindler and Mrs. Anton Portevin acted as chaperons. Refreshments were served during the evening. Mrs. Joseph Bennett entertained the Friday Afternoon Bridge club at her home Fridav afternoon. The club has sixteen members, all being present. Refreshments Re-freshments were served. Mrs. I O. Naylor left Monday for Salt Lake City to spend a short time visiting , friends. Mrs. W. L. Shattuck left Thursday to visit friends in several towns in Colorado for a few weeks. Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Kingsbury have returned re-turned from a stay of. several weeks In California. H. R. Wade and daughter have returned from a stay of several months visiting friends in West Virginia. Miss Minnie Neal and her mother returned re-turned Sunday from a short visit in California. Cali-fornia. Miss Ada Finlayson Is visiting the home of her brother, E. Finlayson, at Ppencer, this week. The Ridge Avenue Bridge club was entertained en-tertained at the home or Mrs. Ralph Al-baugh Al-baugh Monday afternoon. The table was set for twelve, the centerpiece being red carnations and ferns. Luncheon was served. The members of the club are Mesdames T. H. Kelly, Ralph Albaugh, J E. Browning, George Talbot, E. W. Rowles, D. F. Richards. F. F. Finlayson. J. W. Holden, H. E. Fisher, A. W. Holden, A. V. Scott, J. W. Lewis and Eugene Wright. Mesdames Roy and Harold Sheppard entertained en-tertained at bridge luncheon at 1:30 Mon-dav Mon-dav afternoon. A three-course luncheon was served, the decorations being pink carnations, with a corsage bouquet at each plate. Mrs. Joseph Bennet won the prize. Mr. and Mrs. Berggren entertained at a dinner party Sunday in honor of Mr. and Mrq. Genre a Anderson, who have returned from a two months' honeymoon trip to ' the east. Those present, besides the guests of honor, were Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Knott and daughter, Ella; Mr. and Mrs, C. A. Peterson and daughters, Mabel and Esther; Master Harold Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Linger. Mr. and Mrs. Charles C. Figley and Miss Officer. Mrs. Anderson is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Berggren. Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Campbell' and Mrs. M. B. Yeaman returned from several weeks' stay in California on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. C. J- Coughlan entertained all the members of Modern Woodmen and their wives and the Royal Neighbors and i their husbands at the Odd Fellows' hall and banquet rooms Tuesday evening. Cards, dancing and games were the order of the evening. There were about 150 present, including several from Dubois and other towns. Fruit punch was served during the evening. Herbert Peterson and Miss Mildred Anderson An-derson were married at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Axel Anderson, An-derson, in New Sweden, Monday evening, the Rev. G. T. Peterson, father of the hridegroom, performing the ceremony. On the Saturday evening before a large number num-ber of the bride's friends gave her a surprise sur-prise and presented her with a handsome silver set. ' Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Orr entertained in honor of their daughter. Marion, Mondny evening. Music and games were indulged In and dainty refreshments were served. Those present were Misses Hilda Burk-man, Burk-man, Thamer Bears, Margaret Blair, Ebba Johnson and Marion Orr, John Neil-son, Neil-son, John Trimble, Julius Wernhoff, George Lumm and Charles Randolph. Grlssom has gone to Los Angeles, Cal., and will go from there to Tombstone, Ariz., where she will visit friends for some time. Mrs. F. C. Bowman entertained the members of the Wednesday Afternoon Sewing club at her home Wednesday. A jardiniere of white hyacinths formed the centerpiece, the color scheme of green and white being carried out. Irish lace doilies over green were used for the entree!?, en-tree!?, with little hand-painted shamrocks as plat'e cards. The members of the club are Mesdames Albert Greenwell, Cloncy St. Clair, Virgil Cain, G. J. Wright. C. W Mulhall, A. J1. Christensen, F. C. Mose- icy, Joseph Morley and F. C. Bowman. Mrs. Alvos, mother of Mrs. Bowman, and Mrs. Paul Miller and Mrs. Joseph Hal! were present as invited guests. Luncheon Lunch-eon was served. The fi. G. G. club was entertained at the family apartments of the, Porter hotel by Miss Corinne Porter Wednesday evening. even-ing. Cards were enjoyed until late, when luncheon was served. The decorations were grc-on and white, with St. Patrick's , favors at each plate. Miss Mary Olcs j won the prize. |
