A business men's dinner in honor of Herbert F. De Bower, vice president of the Alexander Hamilton institute of New York City, will be given at the Newhouse hotel next Tuesday evening at 6:30 o'clock, under the auspices of the Manufacturers' Association of Utah. Mr. De Bower will be the principal speaker of the evening aud will talk upon America's business opportunities and responsibilities., Invitations have been sent to the Commercial club, the Rotary club, the Retail Merchants' association as-sociation and members of the Manufacturers' Manufac-turers' association. Any other business men interested in the subject will be made welcome, it is announced. Mr. De Bower has been a,-careful student stu-dent of the business situation during the past few years, and lias given special spe-cial thought to the present world conditions condi-tions as they. are affecting the United States today and as they will probably affect this country after the war. He believes that Americans not only have the most wonderful opportunities which have ever favored any nation, but in addition tbey have very grave responsibilities respon-sibilities which it is their patriotic duty to discharge for the welfare of mankind. man-kind. Mr, De Bower has visited a number of the leading cities on his trip across the continent aud addressed the prominent commercial organizations. As an orator ora-tor he is said to take a very high rank. He w-ill arrive In Salt Lake this afternoon after-noon and tomorrow will visit Ogden, where he will speak to the manufacturers manufactur-ers and business men at a noon luncheon lunch-eon at the Weber club, returning to Salt Lake tomorrow evening to fill hia engagement en-gagement iu this city Tuesday. |
