Show OAKLEY-HEYBURN HOOP MEET WINNERS Special to The Tribune. TWIN FALLS. Idaho, March 17. The i first basketball tournament to be held in I southern Idaho took place here Friday i and Saturday of this week. Games were 1 played by teams from Rupert, Heyburn. 1 Oakley academy, Gooding, Jerome, Sho-I Sho-I shone. Buhl, Ilollister, Ktmberlrv anil Twin Falls. It is estimated that 500 attended at-tended the games from out of town. Two sliver cups, given by the local Commercial Commer-cial club, were won by the Oakley academy acad-emy and the Heyburn" high school. Games were played from 2:20 to 5:30 and 7:30 to Hi:;iO each day. The following ivere the results: Kiin-berly Kiin-berly won from Shoshone, 17 to 16; Twin Falls from Jerome. 44 to 4: Rupert from Buhl, 23 to 18; Gooding from Holllster, 30 to 13 ; Oakley from Hey burn, 40 to 30; Shoshone from Jerome, 3$ to 10: Buhl from Hollister, 23 to 14; Rupert from Twin Falls, 28 to 27; Shoshone from Buhl, 17 to 16. Championship pamB: First prize, silver cup to Oakley; Oakley won from Rupert, 3S to 34: Heyburn from Shoshone, 24 to 22. The consolation sliver cup was awarded to Heyburn. |
