Show ANNUAL STAG HELD BY ELKS AT CLUB Governor Bamberger Responds to Toast; Former Exalted Ruler Delivers De-livers Chief Address. The big annual stae at the Elks club last night was an unforgettable event As presiding toastmaster Karl Scheld was exceedingly popular with the guests. Governor Bamberger responded to a toast on "Our Lodge and Its Relation to the State," and scored big. Former Exalted Ruler O. R, Dibblee spoke on the great privilege of being the servant of such a body of men. He told the bovs that they had chosen wisely and well in their selection of the men who are to guide the destinies of the lodge through the coming year. He declared they have a task to perform which will call for all their diplomacy, all of their energy and all . of their perseverance. That task is to make the year of their regime glorious in the history of No. 85. John Dern urged the necessity of a new Elks home. "Some Fights I Have Kit" was the subject of a humorous response bv Thomas Homer. Robert Marsh spoke oh "Our Order and Our Flag." Harry Nightingale spoke on "Our Order and Its Future." "Our Lodge and the Elks of Yesterday" was a review of the past activity ac-tivity of the order by Martin Mulvey. The building was decorated in green, with a scattering of shamrocks. About 600 were present In charge of the programme were Frank R. Newman, E. C. Schmidt and James A. A. Stanley. The decoration committee included Jack Kennedy, Fred Redmond and Howard Emge. Orchestra music was furnished by the Wilson grill players. The principal entertainers were Wilson Brothers. Frank Bonner, Carl Grafe and Harry Richmond. |
