Show WOMAN STRANGLED; JEWELS MISSING NEW YORK, March 17. An autopsy performed on the body of a young woman wo-man today, found dead in a Broadway hotel yesterday, who had registered as "Florence Gray of Boston," disclosed dis-closed that she was murdered by strangulation, stran-gulation, according to the coroner. Harry Helair of Brooklyn identified the hanuwriting on the hotel rcister as that of his wife, Elsie Lee Helair. He said she had $2500 worth of jewelry in her possession when she disappeared on Thursday after receiving a mysterious mys-terious telephone call. The physician who performed the autopsy au-topsy said the young woman had been strangled by a "powerful person, probably prob-ably a man." The police are attempting attempt-ing to trace, the telephone call she received. re-ceived. Helair told the police he had no idea why his wife should leave home with all her jewelry, much of which he had given her, and register under an assumed name at a hotel. |
