If a snowdrift bucking contest could be staged, Fletcher Booth of Booth Brothers laundry of Tooele believes his Maxwell touring car would win "hands down.. " The experience which leads Mr. Booth to be willing to back his Maxwell with any amount of good hard cash in such a contest as this occurred during one of the recent -heavy snowstorms, snow-storms, and it would seem that his faith in the ability of the Maxwell motor is well founded. Booth left Salt Lake City on a cold, snowy afternoon about Christmas time, headed for Tooele, and a detailed description de-scription of his trip would afford plenty of opportunities for a lively "movie thriller" scenerio. According to Booth, he passed over fifty cars that were hopelessly hope-lessly stalled in the deep snow, which he stated was hub-deep on the level, and in many places drifted as high as the radiator. One particular drift, he said, was st least four feet deep, and 150 feet across, but by plunging anil backing and plunging he managed to get through. Booth states that no other car was able to make the trip that day. His time from Salt Lake to Tooele was three hours, which is remarkable considering con-sidering the conditions he described. |
