Show v. MUSIC -will be a fashionable as well as an artistic diversion in Salt. Lake this week. Even those who observe ob-serve Lent inos:t strictly cannot object to anything so elevating as the grand opera season, which will open tomorrow evening at the Salt Lake theater for two (lays, or the Kreisler concert at the tabernacle Friday evening. Tomorrow evening1 for perha.ps the only time in the entire year boxes, stalls, orchestra and dress circle in the historic old Salt Lake theater will he a solid phalanx of elaborately gowned women, with bare shoulders gleaming with jewels and men in evening even-ing clothes. The audience, despite devotion de-votion to ai t, always divides attention with the stage and always presents a brilliant spectacle. A number of special parties will be entertained during the opera 6eason and many fashionable parties are' also being arranged for the Kreisler concert. Among those who will entertain parties to hear Mr. Kreisler, who is conceded to bo one of the world's greatest living violinists, are Hiss Edna Cohn and Miss Ida Hanaue.r. Mr. and Mrs. Kreisler will be entertained at supper at the Hotel Utah following the concert Friday Fri-day night, by the board of directors of the Musical Arts society, which is bringing Mr. Kreisler to Salt Lake.
