Show JOHN B. BURBIDGE FOUND NOT GUILTY Speeial to The Tribune. PARK CITY, July 16. John B. Bur-bldge,- chief criminal deputy sheriff of Salt Lake county, was found not guilty yesterday in the court of City Judge Peter Clark, after being tried on the charge -of having liquor illegally in his possession. The case was heard before a jury composed com-posed of J. F. Welsh, Redmond McDon-ough, McDon-ough, Lester Mufr and J. Neil. County Attorney L. B. Wight appeared for the state and S. Abbot Maginnis of Salt Lake defended Mr. Burbidge, Burbidge and S. R. Case, engineer at the city and county building. Salt Lake, were arrested June 10 near Wanship, In Summit county. A quantity of liquor, said to have been brought from Evanston, Wyo., was found in their automobile. The preponderance of the evidence tended to show that Burbidge did not know who the llguor belonged to, where It came from or how it got Into the car. Mr. Case is facing the same charge as did Burbidge. but the time for hearing of this action has not been definitely announced. |
