Show TO ORGANIZE POST OF AMERICAN LEGION Plans for organizing a post of the American legion were launched at a meeting of about twenty returned soldiers, sol-diers, sailors and marines at the Elks' club last night. Temporary officers were elected as follows: r Chairman, W. G. Laubender; vice chairman, Roy W. Johnson; John-son; treasurer, C. C. Pottinger; secretary. C. L. Collins. A meeting will be held August 5, at which permanent officers will be chosen and a committee appointed to select a name for the proposed post. An invitation was extended last night to all discharged service men to attend the next meeting of the post. Preparations are being made to dispatch an application for charter to the headquarters head-quarters of the Amoriean legion. A name for the local chapter will be chosen before the next meeting. |
