Show Pretty Luncheon Arranged for . Bride FOR Miss Margaret Edwards, a bride of the month, Mrs. Harry Ostler was hostess at a prettily arranged luncheon yesterday afternoon at her home on Yale avenue. The rooms were decorated deco-rated witli garden flowers. The guests were seated at small tables, each having as a centerpiece an enameled basket of pink roses with gypsophila. The ices and candies carried out the pink and white scheme. The hostess was assisted by Miss-Retta Ostler, Miss Genevieve Greenwood and Miss Virginia Ostler. The guests were Mrs. TJzzv Thomas Edward, Mrs. John A. Back. Mrs. A. L. Carr, Mrs. F. M. Bishop, Mrs. F. B. Robbins, Mrs. Scon-berg. Scon-berg. Mrs. Dora Anderson, Mrs. J. Miss Dora Bowman and Miss Amy Bowman. Members of the "Wednesday Afternoon ciub were guests of Mrs. Elbridge Thomas Thom-as yesterday at her home on Second avenue. av-enue. The afternoon was spent in bridge, and tea was served from small tables. Garden flowers in bright colors of summer sum-mer were the decorations of the house. Childs, Mrs. George Dern, Mrs. J. Rogers and Mrs. L. A. Evans. The marriage of Miss Mabel Burton and Clarence W. Anderson took place yesterday yes-terday at noon in the temple, and a reception re-ception was given In the evening at the home of the bride's parents. Mr. and Mrs. i W. C Burton, 226i South State street. i The reception hail and living-room were! decorated with bright yellow marigolds, and pink snapdragons with palms and ferns were used in the library. A color scheme of pink and white was carried out in the dining-room. A Venetian lace cloth ' was the cover for the table, and a silver basket of pink sweet neas, surrounded by silver candlesticks with pink candles, was the centerpiece. The mantel was banked with sweet peas and roses, and baskets of the dainty pink blossom hung in the doorway. Mr. and Mrs. Burton were assisted as-sisted in receiving by Mrs. Carl Anderson, mother of the bridegroom. Miss Hazel Burton was in charge of the dining-room, assisted by twelve young friends of the bride. The bride's dress was a daintv model of crene de chine with pearl trimmings, and she carried a shower bouquet of sweet peas and roses. Miss Edna Chris-topherson, Chris-topherson, the bridesmaid, wore pale yellow yel-low organdie, and her bouquet was of pink roses. Chaunccy Dunford was best man. After a short honeymoon, the couple will take a cottage in Emigration canyon for the remaining summer season. Mrs.. T. A. Stanley and daughter. In the evening a reception was given at the home 'of the bride on Seventh East street. The lawns where the guests were received were inclosed with awnings and were decorated with Japanese lights and parasols. Garden flowers in profusion decorated the house, and the centerpiece fnr the table was a basket of Shasta daisies and larkspur tied with large bows of yellow tulle. Assisting in rereiving were Mrs-. George Reed. Mr. and Mrs. D. R. Lvon and Mr. and Mrs. Willard Richards. Mrs. Scott Ure and Mrs. L. C. Young presided n the dining-room, and were assisted by Miss Gene Cannon, Miss Isa belle Vine, Miss Virginia Freeze and Miss Ruth Vine. The bride, who was unattended, was effectively gowned in white Georgette and her bouquet was of bride's roses. After a wedding trip, the couple will make their home in Bingham. i 1 A number of parties were arranged for the midweek luncheon yesterday at the Country club. Meyers, and son, Edgar Meyers, have gone by motor to Lava Hot Springs, where Mr. Meyers will remain for his health. The family will i continue to Bear lake for a short vaca- j tion. Mrs. Bennett Blair of Logan, formerly ' Miss Gladys Williams of this city, Is visiting vis-iting at the home of her parents on Fourth North street. Mr. Blair accompanied accom-panied Mrs. Blair, but returned to Logan by automobile Monday morning. Miss Janice Greene has returned from the northwest, where she has been visiting. vis-iting. Miss Irene Rohrback, with whom Miss Greene visited in Tacoma, returned home with her and will be her guest for the remaining summer season. Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Bresslngham have returned to the city, after a three weeks' visit to San Francisco and Portland. Dr. and Mrs. A. A. Kerr have returned to their home in the city, after a visit In New York. Mrs. Delia Armstrong has returned to her home in Boise, Idaho, after spending a month- in the city as the guest of J. W. Wolstenholm at their home, 1422 South Main street. - Mrs. Fred Bennion and her sons, Fred and Robert, are visiting in the city with Mrs. Bennion's mother, Mrs. E. A. Wim-mer. Wim-mer. The Bennions have recently moved from Bozeman. Mont., to Oregon, where Mr. Bennion is connected with the Oregon Ore-gon Agricultural college. Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Smith have returned re-turned to their home in Summit, Utah, after spending their vacation at Emigration Emi-gration canyon. Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Sasse and daughter, Maurine; Mrs. George Moore and Mrs. Harry Epperson have JuRt returned from a motor trip through Yellowstone and Montana, , Mrs. Ira C. Mrs. Eveline Thomas Foster, daughter of A. L. Thomas, arrived in the city last week from Seattle, where she has spent the past two years. She is visiting visit-ing with Mr. and Mrs. Elbridge Thomas at their home on Second avenue. Mrs. Roy Stillman Porter and two small daughters, who have been visiting with Mr. and Mrs. M. Ross Porter for the past month, have returned to their summer home. Ranch Oasis. Mr. and Mrs. Porter have gone to the Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, for a three weeks' stay. Mr. and Mrs. Lafayette L. Butler, who have made their home in Pennsylvania for the past four years, have been guests of Mrs. Butler's parents, Dr. and Mrs. C. E. Tolhurst, for the past two weeks. Both Mr. and Mrs. Butler were entertained enter-tained extensively while here and left Tuesday evening for a trip through Yrel-lowstone Yrel-lowstone park, accompanied bv Mrs. C. E. Tolhurst and Mrs. C. B. Ashbv. Mr. and Mrs. Butler will return to their home in Pennsylvania after visiting In the northwest, Detroit and St. Paul. - Mrs. J. Benjamin Parker and two sons. Milton and Robert, of Highland park are spending the month of August with relatives rela-tives In Wallace, Idaho, and Spokane, Washington. Mrs. R. Lindegren left for California Tuesday last, where she will spend a month with friends and relatives. Mrs. E. A. Frewin leaves in a few days for Bear Lake and the northwest. |
