Show DRIFT II EMERALD SH0WSB!G CBE Evidences Multiply That Objective on 1000-foot Level Is Reached. Officials of the Emerald Mining company, com-pany, who returned Tuesday night from an inspection of that Tintic property, brought with them samples of ore and a statement of physical conditions strongly evidencing- the attainment of tho desired objective the intersection of the east-west fissure of the north-south . break. Jt was stated yesterday that the walls ! and face of the east drift, now in 278.5 j feet from the shaft on the 1000-foot I level, were all in an excellent quartz, j except a small segment of lime at the bottom. It is believed that another round I of shots will bring the drift entirely into j the quartz, which is pink and chocolate, witn assays showing fair values in gold and silver. The lime passed through in the last few feet carried a large percentage of iron and the face of the drift, hitherto dry, carried so much water that it was necessary to blow out the holes before putting in the powder. At that time veteran mining experts, who examined the Emerald, told tho officials and the mine superintendent that the intersection intersec-tion objective was near at hand, and it appears their views were well fou tided. The place in which the marked change in the formation has been noted is virtually vir-tually in the place where it whs anticipated antici-pated it would he found. These calculations calcu-lations were based upon indications on the 600-foot level, where some excellent j values were found at the intersection. |
