Show Coffee Futures. NEW YORK, July 16. The market for coffee futures was quiet today, business being restricted re-stricted by the absence of official cables from Brazil, which had not been received up to the close. There was some Wall street and European Euro-pean buying at the opening nnd nfter starting 4 to ten points higher nctive months sold 10 to 25 pointB above last night's closing figures, with December touching 22.00c and March 21.85c. This advance seemed to attract some realizing, however, and the market was unsettled un-settled later in the day. with December Belling off to 21.80c and March to 21.70c. The close was net unchanged to 9 points lower. Clotting bids: Julv, 22.35c; September, 22.20c; October, 22 04c; December, 21.73c; January, 21.68c; March, 21.60c; May, 21.50c. There were reports that Santos 4b and 5s sold to 20.20c London credits in the cost and freight market late yesterday. Today's offers were delaved, but it was reported that they included Santos 4s at 30.50c London credits nnd Rio 7s and 8s at 21.05c American credit. The local spot market was dull and nominal at ! 23Vc for ltio 7s nnd 28 c for Santos 4s. |
